Cool Fitness App Alert!

I know I avg a 10 min mile and if I run for an hour, I run about 6 miles. Simple. But on the days I don't feel so strong, running with out a watch or maybe an area I dont know, I have no clue.

Enter Endomondo! This is a genius app that uses GPS to track your miles, time, calorie burn and works on every smart phone!

The best part is that you can still listen to your music at the same time. After every mile the music quiets and a voice comes on to tell you what mile you're on and how long it took you. Talk about motivation, I found myself trying to run every mile faster to beat the time of the the one before!

After your workout, you can view the route, average speed and mile times. The pix below with the rabbit and turtle shows my slowest and fastest mile. Very fun.

I also used it one of my cycle rides, so I was able to see the route after. The only negative is that this ride was actually 50 miles and my Iphone had only a 1/2 charged battery and it sucked a lot of juice and died on my. I've learned that if I listen to music at the same time the app is running, I have about 2 1/2 to 3 hours of juice.

The free version fully loaded. You can check out the Endomondo app here and download it for your training rides ands runs! www.Endomondo.com

I'm tired already!!

Welcome!

Hi there and thanks for stopping by FitKitTIPS! This is my first venture into the blogging world. I figured it was about time I caught up with the other tech savvy peeps out there. Also, since I get asked quite often to share fitness advice, info, articles, etc, I decided this might be the easiest way to get it "out there".

Not to worry, I wont be sending out email blasts to clog up you inbox, I promise. We all get enough of that. If you want to see stuff, come on back. I may occasionally use social media (Twitter and Facebook) to let you know if there is something of particular interest.

I will be using this as a platform for both KitKit.com ...a great site btw if you haven't checked it out :-) and Hoff Fitness. You can follow my tweets and FB by clicking the links on the right, should you be so inclined.

This is a work in progress since I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Let me know if there is anything in particular you want to see, learn about, hear about or the like and I'll be happy to do the best I can.

Come back soon!
